How does the meaning of work – or its lack thereof – relate to sleep quality and feelings of exhaustion?
In our study of Spanish workers, we found significant positive correlations between meaningful work and sleep quality and negative correlations between meaningful work and feelings exhaustion. Lack of meaningful work was considered as stressful and correlated negatively with sleep quality and positively with feelings of exhaustion.
From a psychological perspective, it is indispensable that the #decentworkAgenda under #sdgsno8 focuses also on the role of meaning and purpose at work (https://lnkd.in/ePkvy-JV). If we want to foster more sustainable and healthy work-life-flows, providing meaningful work might be a lever.
