I'm thinking it would be pretty great perched above a mailbox

I love the way it looks as it is

I'm not sure it gets much more British than this sweet hand-painted postcard of gabled

but the effect looking at it now is to make it feel like there is vast open territory yet to be explored

Just a great drawing I think, complete with little sailboat at his feet and HMS on his cap (for His or Her Majesty's Ship) making one assume it is British. Initialed EMB it appears and dated 1903 at lower right. 7 7 8" x 6 1 2". Very good antique condition, with a little age toning around the edges and a few small stains here and there.
